Amir Khan wanted to fight Floyd Mayweather on May 3 and was passed over for Marcos Maidana instead, but Mayweather offered Khan a deal: Beat Adrien Broner on May 3 and I’ll fight you.

Broner not only tweeted that he plans to fight next on Mayweather’s May 3 event, he also Instagramed out a mock photo of Khan and him squaring up saying: “Is this my next fight or nah?” earlier this weekend.

Khan also mentioned the possible bout by tweeting at both Mayweather and Broner on Saturday stating basically what Mayweather challenged him with.

Khan Tweeted:

Amir Khan @AmirKingKhan

@floydmayweather, tell @adrienbroner to fight me on your card and when I beat him, you fight me next!

If Broner and Khan can strike a deal other than over Twitter for May 3, the fight date that already was big, gets even bigger, possibly making it the biggest fight date of 2014.

We’ll all have to play the waiting game though, as we all have seen many fights made over social media, only to breakdown once serious negotiations begin.
