Floyd Mayweather “I never really paid attention to Canelo Alvarez. He has nothing I’ve never seen before”

The undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. pays attention to money, cars and sparkly watches but when it comes to a red headed undefeated Mexican…well let’s just say he doesn’t really bother himself with that. Floyd Mayweather Jr. admits he never really paid attention to Saul “Canelo” Alvarez before their Sept. 14th PPV was signed. Though that may be a hard pill to swallow for Canelo fans being that Canelo was a co-main event on two of Mayweather’s undercards.

With that said, Mayweather has noticed at least one thing. It’s not the power of Canelo, the fact that his hair is super long right now, or that the Mexican has become the face of Under Armour. Mayweather feels deep down, Canelo is a Mayweather fan, “When I seen Canelo it is obvious he was a fan of mine at one particular time because I see him rolling his shoulder, doing certain defense moves like me, fighting with his hands down like me. I take my hat off to Canelo he is a young strong competitor.”

The old Mayweather of circa 2007 would of trashed Canelo with his verbal wit, but as time has progressed and Mayweather has gotten older, he has matured and actually turned extremely respectful of his opponents. You hardly hear him bad mouth when in comparison to yester-years. I guess we all gotta grow up sometime, but Mayweather certainly is showing a sign of class and mutual respect to his fellow pugilist opponent.
