Enrique Ornelas arrives in Germany for title fight against Stieglitz

Socal native and Super middleweight contender Enrique Ornelas (30-6, 20 KOs) arrived in Dresden, Germany earlier today for his November 20 world title shot against WBO world champion Robert Stieglitz (3-2, 23 KOs).

The current champion Stieglitz has a odd connection to Ornelas as he fought the current challengers brother, Librado Andrade in 2008. Upon arriving Ornelas spoke to the press.

You’re challenging WBO champion Robert Stieglitz on November 20 in Dresden. What does this chance to box for the WBO world title mean for you?

Fighting for the world title is a dream come true. it’s what I have been chasing all my career so fighting on the 20th vs Robert is my dream come to reality.

You fight for the first time in Germany. Is that a kind of a mental burden on you?

Fighting in Germany is a pleasure to me not a burden!

What do you know about the champion? Have you already studied his fights on video?

I know Robert is a great fighter and I have seen some of his fight on video.

How long have you been preparing yourself for this fight? Do you know how to beat Robert Stieglitz?

I have been preparing for this fight all of my career for this. It’s what I’ve been fighting for! I do know how to beat Robert!

What would be your bet for the fight? Do you think you can achieve an early victory?

No predictions for the fight. You must watch and see how it goes.

Which fight is the hardest one in your boxing career?

I have had a few hard fights. I don’t know if they were hard but more of a learning experience

What are your greatest strengths as a pro boxer.

I guess this is in the eye of the beholder.
