Early today in Los Angeles Top Rank staged the press conference for a card that packs a great one-two punch. On October 13th, Nonito Donaire and Toshiaki Nishioka will battle it out for top dog status at junior featherweight in a bout that pits the rising “filipino flash” against the old lion of the division in his Japanese counterpart. The co-main event though may steal the show in a bout that promises to be a action movie played out in the ring as undefeated Brandon Rios takes on equally tough Mike Alvarado. People are already saying this could possibly amount to fight of the year as we hope both fighters come to fight and the script is not flipped on either sides.
