Dan Hardy talks Carl Froch’s win over Lucian Bute, “he hit so hard that my bags moved when training together”

It was a good weekend for Nottingham, England over the past weekend. The city that we Americans know of as the place Robin Hood would jack rich people for schillings had two native sons in fistic combat this past Saturday. UFC welterweight Dan Hardy was facing his possible pink slip from the UFC as he stepped into the cage against Duane Ludwig on Saturday night. With 4 consecutive losses, it was a make or break moment for both fighters and by the end of the first round Hardy would secure his place on the UFC roster with a TKO win over his opponent.

Across the pond in England, Carl “The Cobra” Froch was in a similar position taking on undefeated top rated super middleweight Lucian Bute for his super middleweight title. The match up was extremely built up and was expected to be a back and forth competitive fight…oh how we were so wrong. Froch would take care of Bute in five rounds, battering Bute from round three onwards.

We spoke to Dan Hardy moments after his fight with Duane Ludwig to talk about Carl Froch’s win over Lucian Bute backstage in the press room at UFC 146. See what he had to say about his friends win and why he thinks Froch has been under appreciated as of late.
