Today I came to the realization of how much pull Canelo Alvarez has in this whole boxing game thing. Canelo is set to face a tough challenge in Erislandy Lara on July 12th. A fight his promoter Oscar De La Hoya was not happy about when it came to choosing opponents.
Today both main event fighters were at the MGM Grand set for their public workouts. Upon arriving I noticed one very interesting thing. There was a staggering amount of females in attendance for a boxing workout. Now normally these events are entirely occupied by males of all ages. Teenagers, elderly people, foreigners, Latinos, just a whole mix of dudes; Pent up testosterone at it’s finest.
This Canelo guy though, managed to not only pull a big crowd for a event that was over-shadowed by the World Cup semi final between Argentina and Holland, but he provided eye candy for all of us media members to enjoy.
For that we applaud you Canelo and hope you continue to bring the masses of honey’s to each and everyone of these events.
