Kell Brook and Amir Khan will be on the same card in December in what will be the first fight for Brook after upsetting Shawn Porter for the IBF welterweight title.

The card won’t pit the two British stars against each other, but it will be a tuneup fight for both in anticipation of an summer 2015 bout between the two if both are successful according to Skaysports.com

Eddie Hearn, Brook’s promoter, hopes that having the two on the same card will spike the interest in a possible bout between the two. The hope is to gain enough interest to fill up Wembley Stadium in England, like Carl Froch and George Groves rematch earlier this year that drew 80,000 fans.

With a possible Floyd Mayweather bout looming for Khan in May 2015, Brooks hopes that Khan stays true to his word and fights him next year, as both have spoken about various instances before.

“Coming from me, you’ve heard it many times that I want the fight,” Brooks said. “You’ve heard it from him, he wants the fight. Let’s sign the contract and make it happen.

“He’s said that I’ve never proved myself. I’ve gone to America, to the American’s backyard and took the title from him. I’m now the world champion, let’s make the fight happen.”

Brooks said that the two have compatible styles that will create a great fight and give fans a fight to remember.

“His style and my style, I think, will definitely gel. He’s got quick hands, quick feet and he’s very exciting,” Brooks said. “As we know, he hasn’t got the best chin, so that makes it more exciting and I can definitely punch.

“It’s got all the ingredients to be a super, exciting fight.”
