Tim Bradley reacts to recent De La Hoya tweet on his bout with Ruslan Provodnikov

The announcement of the bout between Timothy Bradley vs. Ruslan Provodnikov on March 16th at The Home Depot Center was met with a bit of bewilderment from boxing fans as many wondered why Bradley was fighting a virtual unknown after headlining a major PPV card with Manny Pacquiao.

Even former world champion and Golden Boy Promotions founder Oscar De La Hoya was left scratching his head and tweeted out that he felt the fight should be happening on ESPN rather than HBO.

Well today in Los Angeles, Bradley held a media workout in which he addressed De La Hoya’s recent tweet, “At least I do not wear dresses. He can talk all he wants, he is the one with the problem.”

Bradley went on to explain the decision to fight Provodnikov was based solely on the fact that the Russian was the only one willing to fight him, “Who else is there to fight? Nobody wants to fight. I already beat Lamont and Robert, we all know about the promotional stuff.” A Peterson bout would of garnered much more attention and given Bradley a bigger purse though the current WBO welterweight champion feels that he has been there and done that.

Robert Guerrero is a different story and a causality of the current Top Rank/Golden Boy feud which has hurt and robbed boxing fans of intriguing match ups, ones that would keep current Top Rank fighters such as Bradley, Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios busy for the next few years.
