Bob Arum “Can (Bradley) pull the upset? Yes!”- Gives update on Yuriorkis Gamboa status, says fights with Golden Boy will happen

Fight correspondent Marcos Villegas recently had a chance to speak to Top Rank Boxing founder Bob Arum. The two discussed the recent media attention Timothy Bradley has been receiving as the point was brought up that Bradley is looking more and more like a live underdog as his mega bout with Manny Pacquiao draws closer. Arum agreed with the general statement and believes that Bradley can pull off the upset and attributes it to his hard work and determination that could carry him through.

Conversation then turned to the status of embroiled featherweight Yuriorkis Gamboa, who earlier in the year was scheduled to fight former lightweight champion Brandon Rios. Gamboa of course no showed to both press conferences to announce the fight and later made a public statement decreeing that he never agreed to the bout. Arum did not want to go into detail about the Cuban fighter, other than saying that Top Rank President Todd duBoef had meet with him over the Memorial Day weekend. Arum also shares the current developments on the relationship between his promotional outfit and Golden Boy Promotions and believes the two promoters will be able to make fights.
