Amir Khan “From now on, I will do drug testing for all my fights…100%”

Amir Khan is set to take on Danny “Swift” Garcia this weekend in a junior welterweight unification match up on July 14th. The fight has a certain hype to it given the fact of the comments and trash talk that has come via Danny Garcia’s father, Angel Garcia. It has motivated Khan so much so that in previous interviews with us he guaranteed a knock out victory and that the elder Garcia would disown his own son. All talk aside, Garcia is the significant underdog coming into this bout and he needs to employ the same game plan Lamont Peterson had back in 2011 minus the testosterone replacement therapy.

In this second part interview with Amir Khan, he opens up to Marcos Villegas about his stance on drug testing for fights, “I will do voluntary testing from now on. All my fights, 100%” This of course is a direct result of Lamont Peterson testing positive for synthetic testosterone which caused the highly anticipated rematch with Khan go on the wayside. Khan though believes a Peterson rematch would of been tougher than a Garcia match up and jokes regarding the circumstances “Peterson would of been a tougher fight….because of his enhancement drugs..” Khan smirked when he mentioned this to us but the heads of HBO and Golden Boy were pretty furious that millions of dollars were lost due to the cancellation of the event. On July 14th we wont be getting the rematch we wanted but I think we have a very solid plan B in Khan vs. Garcia.
