Amir Khan admits to feeling pressure in Carlos Molina bout; feels Pacquiao is better than Marquez but just got caught

By Mick Akers

The pressure is on former unified 140-pound champ Amir Khan heading into his fight with Carlos Molina this weekend. Instead of letting the pressure effect him in a negative way, Khan is using the pressure to train harder to give his best effort in the ring Saturday night.

Khan has found himself in a strange position after dropping two-straight fights. Fans are already dismissing him as a has been with a questionable chin, but at 26 years old, Khan still has plenty of time right the ship.

Khan’s newly appointed trainer, Virgil Hunter, has been working on his balance; It probably will be the smartest thing they worked on and addressed during their first training camp together.

With the questions surrounding Khan’s chin, improving Khan’s balance will not only help him land stronger blows on his opponents, but also allow him to take a power shot better than he may have in the past.

With that being said, don’t expect Khan’s chin to be tested too much in his bout with Molina, as he only has seven KO’s in his 17 wins as a pro.

With a lack of explosive power, Molina is a perfect comeback fight for Khan, as he has a nice looking record and a buzz surrounding his name but presents a low chance that he’ll hurt Khan as well.

If Khan can keep his composure when Molina tries to press the action as he said he will, then Khan should have no problems in this bout.

If Molina can get Khan to go back to his old ways of being impatient when he presses him, then Khan could find himself in trouble at times in their fight, making the night longer than it needs to be for Khan..

Khan also details his feelings and reaction of seeing close friend Manny Pacquiao being knocked out by rival Juan Manuel Marquez in the main event PPV of Pacquiao Marquez 4.

With that aside, Look for Khan to carry out his new plan Saturday night and beat Molina, taking his first step towards his march for another title shot in the very near future.
