The one man wrecking crew they call the “Krusher,” Sergey Kovalev, will defend his WBA, WBO and IBF light heavyweight titles Saturday against Nadjib Mohammedi at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Kovalev (27-0-1, 24 KOs) came in at 174.5 pounds while the No. 1 contender, Mohammedi (38-3-0, 23 KOs) came in at 173 pounds for the 12-round affair.

Most are not giving Mohammedi much, if any, chance Saturday night, and he has been posted at as high as a 60-1 underdog, which are numbers reaching James “Buster” Douglas versus Mike Tyson level odds.

A big rematch with Jean Pascal, who fights on the undercard of the event, is said to be agreed upon shall both fighters win this weekend (h/t The Sweet Science), so Kovalev should have plenty of motivation to put forth his best in the bout.

Mohammedi is feeding off all the disrespect he is receiving from fans and media alike, and promises a good fight Saturday.

If he can even give Kovalev a run for his money, Mohammedi is positioned to make a name for himself, but if Kovalev is on his game, which he normally is, the bout should go less than the 12 scheduled rounds.
