Manny Pacquiao skipped out on the duel-grand arrival that usually takes place at the MGM Grand during a major fight held there, laving Floyd Mayweather alone to do his grand arrival there, while Pacman held his at the Mandalay Bay down the famous Las Vegas Strip.
In an event that had a more personal feel to it compared to Mayweather’s, Pacquiao was in great spirits and assured the crowd, made up of mostly Filipino’s, not to worry because he would win for them Saturday night.
Pacquiao skipped out on the MGM arrival after he felt like the hotel mishandled the ticket situation, so Top Rank’s Bob Arum helped set up the Mandalay Bay event. Pacman is staying at the Mandalay Bay, in their upscale suite wing named Delano.
The arrivals marks the official kick off to wight week, which will continue Wednesday with the final press conference where both fighters and their teams will be in attendance.
Then the final event before Saturday, May 2’s big showdown is this Friday’s weigh-in, which tickets were sold to at $10 a pop, with all the proceeds being split between two charities of Mayweather and Pacquiao’s choice.
