The media circus that is a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight week is in full swing, as all fighters on the card have spoken to the media of two days of news conferences, with Mayweather garnering the most attention, of course.

As Money May as stated several times since announcing he would be fight Andre Berto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, Set. 12, this will be his last fight and despite saying it is over and over, he still asked about it every chance the media gets to speak to the 48-0 fighter.

At the news conference Wednesday for Mayweather (48-0, 26 KOs) and Berto (30-3, 23 KOs), Money May was again asked a question relating to it being his last hurrah, and Mayweather explained that he isn’t looking at it any different than any other bout in his 19-year career.

“I just want to go do my job. I really just want to do my job and be the best at what I do, stay focused and go out there and be the best,” Mayweather said. “Everybody is saying, ‘ah man this is my last press conference, ah man it’s my last time talking to the media.’ I’m going to talk to you guys again. Next time one of my fighters is going to be sitting right here, I’m going to be sitting here and Leonard is going to be sitting right there and we’ll have to coach him about longevity… we have to coach him on what to say and we have to coach him on what not to say.”

With Mayweather already speaking as if has readied himself for life after his professional fighting career is over, it seems more believable than it did at the beginning of fight week that Money May might actually be 100 percent serious about hanging up his gloves after Saturday night’s fight.

Mayweather is looking to end his career with a bang as he has been talking of trying to end the fight early all week, and Wednesday was no exception.

“We want to win,” he said. “We going after the target full force. ”

Mayweather ended his time with the press by doing what he does best outside the ring, flaunt his wealth. He showed off his WBC-themed watch that he said was a gift that is worth over $20’000.

With Mayweather accomplishing about everything he can in boxing, it could be perfect timing for him to walk away from the sport that has given him so much over his almost two decade career.
