Danny Garcia vs. Lamont Peterson: Full weigh-ins and face offs for PBC on NBC card

Garcia-Peterson PBC FH

The second installment of the Al Haymon backed, PBC on NBC series will air live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York Saturday, and the weigh-in’s for the two-fight main card added some excitement to the event.

During the main event’ weigh-in for the Danny Garcia (29-0, 17 KOs) versus Lamont Peterson (33-2-1, 17 KOs) bout, the two share a heated face off, exchanging words with each other.

Garcia appeared to be admittedly telling Peterson, “This is my house, these are my people,” referencing the Brooklyn area and its large Puerto Rican population.

The added fireworks helps spice the fight up, as even though both Garcia (WBA, WBC) and Peterson (IBF) own world titles in the 140-pound division, Garcia was uncomfortable going down to 140 pounds, with a rumored jump to the welterweight division happening for him after this bout, so it’s taking place at a catchweight of 143 pounds.

This marks the second bout in a row at a catchweight for Garcia, as his August bout with Rod Salka was at a 142-pound limit.

The fight is a clash of styles, as Garcia is known more as a power puncher and Peterson more for his speed, which will set a bout that should offer enough excitement to garner its spot on prime time television.

With the co-featured bout between Andy Lee and Peter Quillin originally supposed to be for Lee’s WBC 160-pound title, Quillin failed to make weight, so the bout will also be a non-title affair.

Catch all the action, live on NBC starting at 8:30 p.m. EST/5:30 p.m. PST.
