Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are squaring off, but not in the ring as many hope, but rather via social media.

It started after Mayweather posted a video to his Instagram account early Wednesday morning, showing Pacman’s infamous knockout at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez. This is likely in response to Pacquiao’s Foot Locker commercial mocking him and the whole fiasco about making the megafight fans are eager to see.

Many viewed that post as a low blow to Pacquiao, especially after his dominate performance in the ring last weekend.

Pacquiao’s vintage performance over Chris Algieri Saturday, which saw Pacman knock Algieri down six times, helped the momentum build up behind the public’s demand for a Pacquiao-Mayweather bout once again.

Not to be outdone, Pacquiao, who has been very vocal about wanting to face Mayweather over the past few weeks, fired back at Mayweather with a Twitter post.

Now with the social media back-and-forth between to the two biggest fighters of the past decade the time is now to finally get Mayweather and Pacquiao in the ring.

The sports world can only hope that all the rumors swirling around about secret talks between HBO and Showtime are true and the war of words translates to a battle in the ring in 2015.
