Gennady Golovkin showed off his training to media Wednesday at 220 Boxing Gym in Santa Monica, California ahead of his Saturday night showdown with Marco Antonio Rubio.
GGG had some fun and was looking sharp in his set that included jumping rope, hitting the mitts and some shadow boxing.
The bout is expected to electrify the sold out SubHub Cneter in Carson, California Saturday night and draw a big viewership on HBO, in what could be one of the bigger network bouts of the year.
Golovkin is fighting toward a big PPV showdown with one of the stars in the middleweight division, namely Miguel Cotto, Canelo Alvarez or Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and an impressive win this weekend will help set that up next year.
The bout is dubbed, “Mexican Style” and is almost guaranteed fire works, as GGG is be aiming for his 28th knockout in 31 fights.
