With all the chatter of behind the door talks going on between Floyd Mayweather Jr.‘s and Manny Pacquiao‘s camps, it would seem that we are close to finally seeing the two foes finally face off in the ring.

This is obviously not the case, as Mayweather’s half-hearted call out of Pacman during Showtime’s boxing special edition Friday night showed fans worldwide.

When asked by Showtime’s Steve Farhood about possibly facing Pacquiao in 2015, he used the same excuses that have grown tired over the years.

“Absolutely. I would love to fight Manny Pacquiao,” Mayweather said. “We tried to make the fight happen years ago, we had problems with random blood and urine testing. Like I said, I just want to be on an even playing field.

“Now he’s in a very, very tight situation. He’s lost to (Juan Manuel) Marquez, he’s lost to (Timothy) Bradley, pay-per-view numbers are down extremely low. So he’s desperate.”

Despite Arum claiming that Mayweather and his side are the one’s who are holding up the fight, Thursday at the final press conference for the Bradley-Diego Chaves bout this Saturday, Money May states the opposite.

“Bob Arum is stopping the fight,” Mayweather stated. “We have been trying to make this fight happen, behind the scenes, for years now, but the fans and the people have been fooled because they have been listening to people on just one side. It’s time for us to talk.

“We want the fight. We’re ready. Let’s make it happen May 2nd. Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao. Let’s do it.”

Sure Mayweather seemed to want the fight, but he then goes off and again lists the drug test issues that Pacquiao has since agreed to go through for a couple of years now. Then he talked about the $40 million that Pacman turned down, but now Mayweather said he wouldn’t offer that much now that Pacquiao’s lost twice since then.

In all Mayweather’s call out was just for show and to try and sway fans on his side on why the fight is not happening. So after what could of been a speech that left fans with hope the bout would be made next year, Mayweather’s tirade left fans with the same old bad taste in their mouths, with the same amount of doubt that the fight will ever come to fruition.
