2012 World Jiu-Jitsu Expo Superfights results; Nick Diaz no shows to Estima super fight

Long overdue in its own right, May 12 marked the culmination of the recognition of the evolution in the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Hosted by Renzo Gracie, the first annual World Jiu-jitsu Expo was an event filled with famous faces of grappling and MMA, live Jiu-Jitsu action, seminars and overall exciting atmosphere that attracted fans and families.

The most popular attraction was a collection of super fights featuring the best Jiu-Jitsu fighters in the world. Each fight was nothing short from breathing taking as each competitor displayed great physical and technical prowess in their fights putting on a great show for the fans in attendance and those watching on web television. Closing the events festivities was a much talked about and built up main event pitting ADCC World Champion Brauilo Estima against the brass controversial enigma, UFC Veteran Nick Diaz.

Building up great hype for the past month it was one of the major key elements that brought thousands of fans, media, and peers to the event. As the event headed into the main event with everyone waiting at the edge of their seats, Braulio began his warm-up on the mat. A sudden twist of events would trigger a mix of shock, anger, and disappointment throughout the arena and those watching at home. After much wait and anticipation fans in attendance were left with no super fight due to Nick Diaz’s inability to show up to perform at the event.

Obviously mad at situation Estima expressed his frustrations calling Nick Diaz unprofessional and even challenging him to an MMA fight which would prove to be an interesting encounter if it was the occur. Minutes after the outrageous no show, Facebook, twitter, and chat forums were flooded with upset people opening about their disdain for Diaz’s unprofessionalism…leaving many with the same notion telling Nick…. “Don’t Be Scared Homie”

Rumors and speculation have already ran rapid over why Diaz did not compete ranging from shady promotion dealings to weight cut issues concerning his competitor. Whatever the case may be, it defiantly presents Diaz in a negative light that could do critical damage to the remarkable career of the Gracie Fighter representative.
